Dave Simpson
Meet Dave, our drumming maestro with an unconventional start! He discovered his passion for drums at 17 when his band’s drummer kept forgetting to turn up for practice and he took matters into his own hands. From then on, Dave immersed himself in the vibrant music scenes of Scotland, ending up at London’s prestigious Drumtech Drum and Percussion School.
Under the guidance of renowned UK players like Tom Meadows and Erik Stams, Dave thrived, graduating with distinction and winning the Best Live Performer Prize. Since moving to Hong Kong, Dave has continued his musical journey, performing with Soler and his partner Weisan, leaving audiences captivated.
Passionate about teaching, Dave has been offering drum lessons since 2005. His focus goes beyond drumming skills, as he empowers students to become well-rounded musicians. From grooves to fills, he sets the foundation for confident band playing. With a wealth of experience teaching students aged 6 and up, Dave is familiar with Rockschool and Trinity Music programs, guiding students through different grades.
