Jessica
Jessica is a versatile performer and music educator who has extensive experience working with students of all ages and abilities. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education, with major emphasis in Voice and minor emphasis in Piano from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines and she also has a Professional Certificate from Berklee College of Music, USA.
Jessica has loved music her whole life and has performed regularly from quite a young age. She began singing at the age of 8 and took part in numerous recitals, musical theatre shows, and competitions. At the age of 17, she entered the Conservatory of Music and began teaching at the age of 20. With over a decade of teaching experience in Singapore and Hong Kong, her teaching method is diverse and able to meet the needs of students, whether they are learning for pleasure or pursuing exams.
Jessica specialises in teaching singing students from beginners to advanced levels in Classical, Musical Theatre, and Contemporary styles. She also teaches piano/keyboard to those students who want to play pop songs or to be able to sing and play. In addition, she believes that studying basic music theory, the theoretical aspects of music, is an excellent addition to learning any musical instrument.
In her keyboard teaching, she incorporates various renowned teaching methods, such as Kodaly, Dalcroze and Orff, in her lessons so she can adapt according to the individual needs and learning styles of her students.
Rarely seen without a bright, beaming smile on her face and always with a kind word to say, Jessica has become a firm favourite at the School.
